Are clients who are eligible for Medicare part A eligible for the hospice Medicaid daily rate?
No. A client who is also eligible for hospice under Medicare part A is not eligible
for the hospice Medicaid daily rate through HCA’s hospice program. HCA pays
hospice nursing facility room and board if the client is admitted to a nursing
facility or a hospice care center and is not receiving general inpatient care or
inpatient respite care. (Also, see WAC 182-551-1530.)
