binding.law is a do.dev product. We started with bar-verified attorney data (as lawfirm.dev) and grew into the thing our customers kept asking for: the law itself — statutes, regulations, and guidance — queryable at any point in time, with proof attached. We provide data foragents; we don't run them.
Principles we don't negotiate
Every fact has provenance.
No field ships without a source, a retrieval timestamp, and a confidence. If we can't trace it, we don't serve it.
Misses are explicit.
Outside coverage you get a structured miss with a reason code — never a nearest guess dressed up as an answer.
Attorneys never pay.
No premium listings, no claim fees, ever. Practitioners correcting their own records make the data better for everyone.
We own the pipeline.
Ingestion from official sources is ours end to end — we vendor enrichment at the edges, never the ground truth.
Data for agents, not agents.
binding.law grounds other people's products. We don't compete with our customers by running agents of our own.
Append-only in spirit.
Assertions are superseded, never silently rewritten. The history of what we believed, and why, is part of the product.
