Va. Model Jury Instr. Crim. No. 2.300
Flight from Scene or Use of False Name to Avoid Prosecution, Detection, Apprehension or Arrest
If a person [leaves the place where a crime was committed to avoid prosecution, detection,
apprehension or arrest; flees to avoid prosecution, detection, apprehension or arrest; intentionally
assumes a false name immediately after the commission of a crime], this creates no presumption that
the person is guilty of having committed the crime. However, it is a circumstance which you may
consider along with the other evidence.
