Billing instructions

Hospice agencies will bill the room and board for NFs or ICFs/ID in the same

manner as for other hospice care services on a professional claim (837P) or

institutional claim (837I). Hospice providers are also required to report the

location of where services are rendered to ensure appropriate payment.

• For electronic billing of the professional claim (837P), complete the

service facility location name, 2310C loop.
