Page Limits in Death Penalty Habeas Cases
In any post-conviction proceeding seeking to vacate or set aside a death sentence, the
following page limits (excluding pages that contain a table of contents and table of authorities)
apply:
(a) the application, motion, or petition, and any supporting brief memorandum
(whether filed contemporaneously with—or after—the application, motion, or
petition), must not exceed 100 pages in total;
(b) the answer to the application, motion, or petition, and any supporting brief or
memorandum (whether filed contemporaneously with, or after, the answer), must
not exceed 100 pages in total; and
(c) the reply, and any supporting brief or memorandum (whether filed
contemporaneously with, or after, the reply), must not exceed 25 pages in total.
