Settlement

(a) Settlement Negotiations. Parties in a civil action must make good-faith efforts to

settle. Settlement negotiations must begin at the earliest possible time, well in advance of

any pretrial conference.

(b) Settlement Conferences. A judge will be available for settlement discussions. In

nonjury cases the presiding judge will not discuss settlement figures unless requested to do

so by all concerned parties.
