Appointment of Authorized Process Servers
In addition to any judge or magistrate judge of this court, the clerk of this court or the
chief deputy clerk is authorized to issue orders appointing any sheriff or deputy sheriff or
authorized process server in any state or territory of the United States to serve any civil
process issued out of this court. A party requesting that a person be authorized to serve civil
process should prepare a written request, stating the name of the person desired to be
appointed, and an order for the clerk or chief deputy clerk to sign designating such person
as the one authorized to serve process in any given case.
