Release of Grand Jury Material to United States Probation Office
The attorney for the government may, upon the request of the probation office, disclose to the
probation office grand jury matter concerning a defendant for whom the Court has ordered the
probation office to prepare a presentence investigation report. The probation office shall not use
grand jury matter for any purpose other than preparation of a presentence report. The probation
office shall not disclose grand jury matter except to the defendant’s attorney in connection with
the presentence investigation and in the presentence report. The attorney for the defendant shall
not disclose grand jury matter except to the defendant and in connection with the sentencing
proceeding.
