N.D. Ohio LCrR 5.2
Assignment and Referral of Matters to United States Magistrate Judges
(a) General. The method for assignment of duties to a Magistrate Judge and for the
allocation of duties among the several Magistrate Judges of this Court shall be made in
accordance with orders of the Court or by special designation of a District Judge.
(b) Felony Cases. Upon the return of an indictment or the filing of an information, all
felony cases may be referred by the Court to a Magistrate Judge for the conduct of an
arraignment and such other conferences or hearings as are necessary as provided in Local
Criminal Rule 5.1(c).
