Docketing and Trial
Actions and proceedings shall be tried in their county of origin, except that Highlands, Indian
River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie County actions and proceedings shall be tried at Fort
Pierce, Florida.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, any civil or criminal proceeding or trial may, upon Order of Court
and in the interest of justice, the status of the docket, or to assure compliance with requirements
imposed under the Speedy Trial Act, be conducted at any jury division within the District.

Effective December 1, 1994. Amended effective April 15, 2007; April 15, 2010; December 1, 2011; December 1, 2015. Authority (1993) Former Local Rules 1 and 2. Collier, Hendry and Glades Counties were transferred to the Middle District of Florida by P.L. 100-702.
