Rules of Pleading
(a) Statement of the Claim
A petition for writ of habeas corpus or motion filed pursuant to Title 28, U.S.C., §2255 shall
contain a short and plain statement of the claim made and the relief sought. A petition or motion
not in compliance with this Rule shall be subject to dismissal without prejudice by the Court on
its own motion.
(b) Petitions Shall be Legible
Petitions for writs of habeas corpus and motions filed pursuant to Title 28, U.S. Code § 2255,
shall be typewritten or in legible handwriting. Such petitions and motions shall be on forms
approved by the Court and supplied by the Clerk.
