(1) Patient rooms must meet the following conditions:
(i) Accommodate no more than four patients.
Interpretive Guidelines: §403.742(b)(1)(i)
RNHCI rooms must maintain patient privacy, comply with federal, state and local
building codes and may not exceed four patients per room.
Survey Procedures:
• Visit several patient rooms to verify that no more than four patients share a room.
• Ask staff what the maximum number of patients are to one room.
