§483.372(b)(1) A resident will be transferred from the facility to a hospital and
admitted in a timely manner when a transfer is medically necessary for medical care or
acute psychiatric care;
Interpretive Guidelines§ 483.372(b)(1)
If a resident is deemed to need medical care or acute psychiatric care, it is the
responsibility of the facility to assure a timely transfer based on the urgent or emergent
nature of symptom or injury presentation.
