§483.364(b) A room used for seclusion must—
(1) Allow staff full view of the resident in all areas of the room; and
Interpretive Guidelines§ 483.364(b)(1)
Any area utilized as a seclusion room must be designed to enable the staff to be
physically present, continually monitor and visualize the entire body of the resident in the
seclusion room. Video monitoring may be used in addition to this room configuration but
cannot be used in lieu of physical monitoring.
