(2) Provide for individual privacy in toilets, bathtubs, and showers; and
Guidance §483.470(d)(2)
A bathroom containing multiple toilets, showers or bathtubs, must have doors, curtains, or
some other means of protecting the client from view when fully or partially unclothed.
Clients should not be able to be seen through the door or window by passersby when they are
using the bathrooms.
Client privacy does not preclude the assistance provided by facility staff when necessitated by
the client's condition.
