(v) In all facilities initially certified, or in buildings constructed or with major renovations or
conversions on or after October 3, 1988, have walls that extend from floor to ceiling.
Guidance §483.470(b)(l)(v)
If a facility was initially certified on or after October 3, 1988 and/or is under renovations or
conversions, they must have walls that extend floor to ceiling.
