§483.460(c)(3)(iii) Be on a quarterly or more frequent basis depending on client need;
Guidance §483.460(c)(3)(iii)
"On a quarterly basis" means that the examinations are conducted approximately 90 days apart
(e.g. scheduled to be conducted approximately once every 90 days). If during the course of a
calendar year, there were three quarterly examinations conducted by a licensed nurse and in
the fourth quarter the annual physical examination was performed by a physician, the intent of
this requirement is met without the nurse performing an additional examination.
