§483.460(a)(4) To the extent permitted by State law, the facility may utilize physician
assistants and nurse practitioners to provide physician services as described in this section.
Guidance §483.460(a)(4)
Refer to the applicable State Nurse Practice Act or applicable Board of Medicine Practice Act to
determine the extent that the nurse practitioner or physician assistant may provide physician
services.
