§483.450(d)(5) so as not to cause physical injury to the client
Guidance §483.450(d)(5)
Physical restraints to include mechanical devices must be the correct size for the client and be
applied with the correct amount of pressure according to manufacturer’s directions. In addition
to observation of any physical mechanical restraint in use at the time of the survey, review
incident reports for any injuries as a result of restraint use.
