Guidance §483.440(c)(5)(i)
The training program provides clear directions to any staff person working with the client on
how to implement the teaching strategies. To comply with this requirement the methodologies
must be written in a clear enough manner that a substitute staff person will be able to read the
methodologies and implement them without substantial differences from a regularly assigned
staff person. Methodologies should be consistent across settings, such as when the client is in
the day program.
