§483.440(c)(3) The comprehensive functional assessment must take into consideration the
client's age (for example, child, young adult, elderly person) and the implications for active
treatment at each stage, as applicable, and must -

During assessment, the client is given opportunities to participate in age-appropriate activities
to assess the person's functioning in those activities or settings. For example, the use of baby
toys during the assessment of an adult would not be appropriate.
