§483.430(e)(2) and health needs
Guidance §483.430(e)(2)
Staff receive training in the following areas:
• signs and symptoms of the client’s changing health (e.g. constipation, urinary tract
infections, adverse drug reactions, as indicated);
• exercise and diet;
• first aid;
• infection control;
• reporting to appropriate healthcare professionals; and
• for those staff who can administer medications, how to include clients in their
medication administration by recognizing and encouraging the use of applicable skills.
