§483.430(b)(5)(x) To be designated as a human services professional an individual must have
at least a bachelor's degree in a human services field (including, but not limited to: sociology,
special education, rehabilitation counseling, and psychology).
Guidance §483.430(b)(5)(x)
Human Services is a diverse field focused on improving the quality of life of clients in
communities in which the professional serves. A human services professional works directly
with the population being served. Surveyors should see evidence that a human service
professional has a bachelor’s degree at a minimum.
