6.5 Concentrate distribution (Bicarbonate Jugs – Rinsing)
Bicarbonate concentrate jugs should be rinsed with treated water and stored inverted at
the end of each treatment day. Pick-up tubes should also be rinsed with treated water and
allowed to air dry at the end of each treatment day.
Interpretive Guidance § 494.40(a)
Pick-up tubes are the tubes which go into the concentrate jugs to take up the concentrate. These
look like large straws and are usually attached to the lids of the jugs.
