§485.914(c)(4)(xiv) For pediatric clients, the CMHC must assess the social service needs
of the client, and make referrals to social services and child welfare agencies as
appropriate.
Interpretive Guidelines §485.914(c)(4)(xiv)
During the process of the assessment, the environmental or safety needs that may not be
met for the client in their home are identified. Examples are clothing in poor condition,
poor hygiene, evidence of recent or pattern of unusual physical injuries, lack of medical
care, lack of shelter, lack of heat, lack of food or signs of physical or sexual abuse.
Referrals to community resources are made as indicated.
