§484.100(c)(2) If the HHA refers specimens for laboratory testing, the referral
laboratory must be certified in the appropriate specialties and subspecialties of
services in accordance with the applicable requirements of part 493 of this chapter.

§484.102 Condition of participation: Emergency preparedness.
Interpretive Guidelines: § 484.102
HHAs must comply with the applicable emergency preparedness requirements referenced
in Appendix Z of the State Operations Manual. For all applicable requirements and
guidance for Emergency Preparedness, please refer to Appendix Z. We note that
compliance with the emergency preparedness requirements is assessed in accordance
with the survey protocol outlined within Appendix Z.
