Interpretive Guidelines §482.22(c)(1)
Medical staff bylaws and any revisions of those bylaws must be submitted to the governing body
for approval. The governing body has the authority to approve or disapprove bylaws suggested
by the medical staff. The bylaws and any revisions must be approved by the governing body
before they are considered effective.
Survey Procedures §482.22(c)(1)
Verify that the medical staff bylaws have been approved by the medical staff and the governing
body.
