BOP Program Statement 1320.07 § 2
DELEGATION OF AUTHORITY
The Director of the Federal Bureau of Prisons (Bureau) is authorized to settle administrative tort
claims that do not exceed $50,000 under 28 C.F.R. § 0.172. The Director has redelegated this
authority to the General Counsel under 28 C.F.R. § 0.96 and 0.97, who has redelegated the
authority to the Regional Counsels and the Associate General Counsel, Litigation Branch.
