Definition of Automobile and No-Fault Insurance

• An automobile is defined for the purposes of this instruction, as any self-propelled

land vehicle of a type that must be registered and licensed in the state in which it

is owned.

• No-Fault Insurance is insurance coverage (including a self-insured plan) that pays

for all or part of the medical expenses for injuries regardless of who may have

been responsible for causing the accident. (This insurance is sometimes called

personal injury protection (PIP), medical payments coverage, or medical expense

coverage.)
