MAC Created Surveys
MACs shall use the third-party contractor’s analysis survey platform that CMS provides. MACs must
get CMS approval for any survey that will be sent to Medicare providers. CMS will determine
whether proposed surveys require approval from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). If so,
CMS will secure approval through the Paperwork Reduction Act process.
For MAC internal surveys, MACs shall notify CMS to publish. For more information, see the MCE user guide.
