Timeframe for Requesting an Expedited Reconsideration

A beneficiary who is dissatisfied with a BFCC-QIO’s expedited determination may

request an expedited reconsideration. The beneficiary may contact the BFCC-QIO by

telephone or in writing.

• For timely requests: The beneficiary must contact the BFCC-QIO no later than

noon of the calendar day following receipt of the initial notification (whether by

telephone or in writing).

• For untimely requests: The beneficiary may contact the BFCC-QIO anytime,

including after a related claim has been filed with the MAC.
