Extracorporeal Immunoadsorption (ECI) Using Protein A
Columns (RETIRED)

Effective January 1, 2021, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services determined that
no national coverage determination (NCD) is appropriate at this time for Extracorporeal
Immunoadsorption (ECI) Using Protein A Columns. In the absence of an NCD, coverage
determinations will be made by the Medicare Administrative Contractors under
1862(a)(1)(A) of the Social Security Act.
