Services

Services and supplies that are integral, though incident to a CP, CSW, MFT or MHC

service are:

• Commonly rendered without charge or included in the RHC or FQHC

payment;

• Commonly furnished in an outpatient clinic setting;

• Furnished under the direct supervision of the CP, CSW, MFT and MHC

except for authorized care management services which may be furnished

under general supervision; and

• Furnished by a member of the RHC or FQHC staff.

NOTE: The direct supervision requirement is met in the case of a CP, CSW, MFT

or MHC who supervises the furnishing of the service only if such a person is

permitted to exercise such supervision under the written policies governing the RHC

or FQHC. Services and supplies covered under this provision are generally the

same as described in section 120 as incident to a physician’s services and include

services and supplies incident to the services of a CP, CSW, MFT or MHC.

For services provided under direct supervision, the requirement that the supervising

physician or practitioner must be immediately available to provide assistance and

direction throughout the procedure may be satisfied through virtual presence using

real-time, interactive audio and video telecommunications.
