Required Admission Orders

At the time that each Medicare Part A fee-for-service patient is admitted to an IRF, a

physician must generate admission orders for the patient's care as per the requirements at

42 CFR § 482.12(c)(2), § 482.24(c), and § 412.3. These admission orders should

generally be retained in the patient’s medical record at the IRF.
