Chief Magistrate

The supreme executive authority of this State shall be vested in a Chief Magistrate, who shall be styled “The Governor of the State of South Carolina.”

History

1972 (57) 3171; 1973 (58) 48. The present provisions of this section are identical to former Section 1 of Article IV as it existed prior to the 1973 revision. For similar provisions in Constitution of 1868, see Const 1868, Art III, Section 1.
