R.I. Disciplinary Bd. R. 3.15

Grounds for institution of formal proceedings

Disciplinary Counsel shall

institute formal disciplinary proceedings by filing with the Board a petition under

Section 3.16 of these Rules (relating to petition for discipline) in either of the following cases:

(a) Pursuant to a referral by the Supreme Court following the conviction of

the respondent of a crime.

(b) Pursuant to a determination to institute formal proceedings made under

Article III, Rule 6 of the Supreme Court Rules.
