Dauphin County local rules: Rule 5004 - Auditors, Referees and Masters
RULE 5004. AUDITORS, REFEREES AND MASTERS
(1) Only an attorney whose name appears on the list maintained in the
Prothonotary’s Office pursuant to Rule 1920.51A(2) hereof may be appointed by
the Court to serve in a special capacity, such as auditor, referee or master; and,
when appointed, except when otherwise provided by statute, order or rule of
Court, shall:
(a) give at least ten (10) days’ written notice of the time and place of hearing
to the parties;
(b) cause a record to be kept of all proceedings before him; and if objection
be made to the admission or rejection of evidence, note in the record the
offer and its purpose as well as the objection and the grounds therefore;
and
(c) upon filing his report with the Court, serve a copy thereof forthwith on the
parties, to which exceptions may be filed within ten (10) days after
service.
