ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER

AND NOW, this 8 th day of May, 2025, pursuant to Pa.R.C.P. 1930.4(a)(3), the

Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, through a designee if the Defendant is located outside of

this county, shall make ongoing, reasonable efforts to personally serve the Defendant with the

Petition, Temporary Order, and Notice of Hearing and Order during the 48 hours following the

filing of the initial petition in a Protection From Abuse or a Protection of Victims of Sexual

Violence or Intimidation matter. If personal service cannot be effectuated within 48 hours, the

Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office is hereby authorized to effectuate service via phone, email,

mail, or commercial carrier. If service is made by phone, a reasonable attempt shall be made to

ensure that the Defendant is able to receive a physical or digital copy of the Petition, Temporary

Order, and Notice of Hearing and Order.

It is ordered that this Administrative Order shall take effect in thirty (30) days.

It is further ordered that in accordance with PA.R.J.A. No. 103, the Court Administrator

shall:

(a) File one (1) certified copy of this Order with the Administrative Office of the

Pennsylvania Courts via email to admin.rules@pacourts.us;

(b) File two (2) certified copies and (1) electronic copy in a Microsoft Word format

of this Order with the Legislative Reference Bureau for publication in the

Pennsylvania Bulletin via bulletin@palrb.us;

(c) File one (1) certified copy of this Order with the Clerk of Courts of the Court of

Common Pleas of Cumberland County;

(d) Forward one (1) copy of this Order for publication on the Cumberland County

Court website at www.cumberlandcountypa.gov; and

(e) Forward one (1) copy of this Order for publication in the Cumberland County

Law Journal.
