Interpreters

In all criminal proceedings in Court or before Magisterial District Judges, where either a

defendant or a testifying witness so requests, an official interpreter, or an alternate, shall be

provided by the Court, through the Court Administrator’s Office. It shall be the responsibility of

counsel representing the defendant, or calling the witness, to notify the Court Administrator’s

Office, not less than twenty-four (24) hours in advance of the proceeding, when an interpreter will

be needed.

Note: If the Magisterial District Judge is aware that an interpreter will be needed, the Magisterial

District Judge should advise the Court Administrator.
