SETTLEMENT OF PERSONAL INJURY CLAIMS IN PROBATE CASES

A petition for approval of a settlement of a personal injury claim must be accompanied

by an affidavit setting forth all relevant information concerning the settlement, including

medical reports covering the nature and extent of the injuries sustained and the

prognosis. The petition and affidavit shall be filed as confidential documents if, and as,

required by law. The court may require further information. Settlements on behalf of a

protected person are subject to approval by the probate court.
