Scope of Authority --- Defined
An agent is acting within the scope of authority if the agent is engaged
in the transaction of business t hat has b een assigned by the principal, or if
the agent is doing anything that may reasonably be said to have been

contemplated as a part of the agent’s duties. It is not necessary that the
principal expressly authorized an agent’s act or failure to act.
