PHYSICIAN’S LIABILITY FOR PATIENT ABANDONMENT
PHYSICIAN’S LIABILITY FOR PATIENT ABANDONMENT
[Unless there is an emergency or th ere are other special circumstances,] a
physician has a duty not to leave a patient at a critical stage when the patient needs
further medical treatment without giving the pa tient reasonable notice so that the patient
has a reasonable opportunity to obtain the n ecessary medical treatment from another
physician.
