Ohio Sup.R. 9.56
Oath
A foreign language interpreter participating through telephonic interpretation shall take an oath or
affirmation that the interpreter knows, understands, and will act according to the “Code of
Professional Conduct for Court Interpreters and Translators,” incorporated as Sup.R 9.35 through
9.47 and that the interpreter will make a true translation or interpretation as required by Evid.R.
604.

Effective Date: July 1, 2014 Amended: November 13, 2025 Commentary (July 1, 2026) Appendix J, Standard 5 was renumbered to Rule 9.56 as part of the 2026 restructuring of the Rules of Superintendence.
