WHEREAS, this matter came on for consideration upon recommendation of 10
the New Mexico Judicial Translation Project Team (NMJTPT) and the Court 11
Services Division of the Administrative Office of the Courts to implement a 12
multilingual forms project for the use of landlord tenant forms by self-represented 13
litigants in New Mexico courts, and the Court having considered the 14
recommendation and being sufficiently advised, Chief Justice C. Shannon Bacon, 15
Justice Michael E. Vigil, Justice David K. Thomson, Justice Julie J. Vargas, and 16
Justice Briana H. Zamora concurring; 17
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED that the recommendation is 18
APPROVED; 19
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that effective April 13, 2022, all landlord tenant 20
forms that are available in paper copy in the courthouses and for download from the 21
Judiciary’s website shall be made available in multilingual format, and the current 1
English-only forms shall also remain available; and 2
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that landlord tenant forms may be completed by 3
a self-represented litigant in a language other than English, and the courts shall 4
accept such pleadings and follow guidelines from the Administrative Office of the 5
Courts for processing such pleadings. 6
