ORDER 9

WHEREAS, this matter came on for consideration by the Court upon 10

recommendation to authorize the translation into Spanish of certain adult 11

guardianship and conservatorship forms for use by self-represented litigants in New 12

Mexico courts, and the Court havi ng considered the recommendation and being 13

sufficiently advised, Chief Justice Michael E. Vigil, Justice Barbara J. Vigil, Justice 14

C. Shannon Bacon, Justice David K. Thomson, and Justice Julie J. Vargas 15

concurring; 16

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED that the recommendation is 17

APPROVED; 18

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that, effective August 1, 2021, the following 19

guardianship and conservatorship forms shall be made available in bilingual format 20

in paper copy at all district courts and for download from the Judiciary's website and 21

shall also remain available in their the current English-only format: 22

• Form 4-996 NMRA (Guardian’s Report); 1

• Form 4-997 NMRA (Conservator’s Inventory); 2

• Form 4-998 NMRA (Conservator’s Report); and 3

• Form 4-999.1 NMRA (Grievance About Guardian, Con servator, or 4

Representative Payee); and 5

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that Forms 4-996, 4-997, 4-998, and 4- 999.1 6

NMRA may be completed by a self-represented litigant in a language other than 7

English and all district courts shall accept such pleadings and follow guidelines from 8

the Administrative Office of the Courts for processing such pleadings. 9
