N.M. Jud. Standards Comm'n Rule 16
SERVICE UPON A JUDGE AND RESPONSE BY A JUDGE
A. Promptly upon issuance of a notice of investigation or notice of formal
proceedings, a copy thereof shall be served upon the judge.
B. Within twenty-one (21) days of service as set forth above, a judge shall serve a
response upon the Commission.
(1) A response to a notice of investigation shall contain an explanation of the
incident described in the notice and the factual and legal bases for the judge’s conduct.
(2) A response to a notice of formal proceedings shall contain the judge’s
responses to each of the charges contained therein.
C. Upon motion and for good cause shown, the time for the judge’s responses may
be extended.
