LAW CLERKS
A. Law clerks shall meet the qualifications set forth in the NMJB
Personnel Rules.
B. Law clerks shall adhere to the confidentiality policies adopted by the
Court and the individual chambers in which they are employed.
C. Law clerks shall perform such duties and carry out such individual
assignments as may be determined by their judge. Law clerks may be
called upon to perform duties that benefit the Court as a whole.
D. The chief judge, with approval of the supervising judge, may grant up
to eighty (80) hours administrative leave for judges’ law clerks to study
for and take the New Mexico bar examination.
E. Succession Plan: Each individual judge will determine how to
redistribute their law clerks’ caseloads, whether at the end of the law
clerks’ terms or if they leave unexpectedly. If there are floating law
clerks, the chief judge will redistribute their caseloads upon their
departure.
