A. The chief judge shall determine and distribute the annual calendaring

and judge rotation calendar. The period of duty of the calendaring judge

shall normally be for two months at a time and shall rotate among the

judges of the Court.

B. The calendaring judge continues to take assignment of cases during

their term as calendaring judge.

C. The calendaring judge shall have the discretion to determine which

calendar a case will be placed upon. The use of transcripts and

recordings on a summary calendar case is discouraged, but can be

employed when they are transmitted to the Court in the ordinary course

and when doing so is deemed an appropriate and efficient use of Court

and DACA resources. If a case is to be summarily disposed of on the

basis of the calendar assignment and a member of the panel disagrees,

even after conference, the case may be reassigned to the general

calendar or the disagreeing panel member may write separately. Two

judges shall be randomly assigned by the clerk’s office to serve as

participants on each summary calendar case.
