N.C.P.I.—Motor Vehicle 218.50

RECEIVING OR DISCHARGING SCHOOL BUS PASSENGERS.

The motor vehicle law provides that it is unlawful for [a school bus1

driver2 to stop3 and receive, or to discharge passengers] or for any

[principal or superintendent of any school bus driver, routing a school

bus, to authorize the driver of any school bus to stop and receive, or to

discharge passengers] on a public road divided into two roadways, where

passengers would be required to cross the public road to reach their

destination or to board the bus.4

A violation of this law is negligence within itself.
