REASONABLE LOOKOUT.

activein force · 1993-06-01 – presentas-observed

With respect to the [plaintiff's] [defendant's] (state number)

contention, the operator of a motor vehicle on a highway has a duty to

keep a reasonable lookout. This means that the operator is charged with

the duty at all times to keep the same lookout that a reasonably careful

and prudent person would keep under all the circumstances then existing.

The duty is not only to look, but to see what ought to be seen. The

operator must be reasonably vigilant and anticipate the use of the

highway by others.

A violation of this duty is negligence.
